I ran away from home

Sometimes when you have a 24/7 job with no vacations, sick time, lunch breaks or even potty breaks you need to run away. It keeps you sane. Months and months ago my in-laws insisted that I would have a great time at the Kenny Chesney all-day country fest. I don't really know any of Kenny Chesney's music aside from tag-line lyrics from the chorus of two or three songs, but a day out sounded fun!

Fifteen or twenty members of a very broad and loosely related family tree (there were steps and in-laws and significant others, etc.) met at a parking lot to caravan to Gillette Stadium. We had a fantastic cookout tailgate style and then headed into the concert. We shared big laughs, great music and tons of fun. Kenny even wore a Red Sox t-shirt and had a few Red Sox & Patriots join him on stage singing a few songs. I figured he couldn't be all that bad and decided to be a fan. I even bought a grossly over priced t-shirt!

Meanwhile, a couple from our small group had invited everyone up to their cabin near a lake. Dave took the two kids and had a great day of fishing, boating, waterfall playing and cookout dining. Once again, I had the only camera. Too bad because Dave even saw a BEAR walking in the breakdown lane of the highway on the way home!!! The kids had fallen asleep, but Dave was shocked and excited!

This is dorky, sweaty me and Dave's wonderful and beautiful cousin, Caitlin.
