Planning for the Future

I had a conversation with Nick in the car the other day concerning his 2nd grade teacher's children:

Nick: Mrs. Martinez's son goes to Yale.
Mom: Wow. That's a really great college.
Nick: Their mascot is a bulldog. She said the original dog is stuffed and you can see it in one of the office buildings. It's in a glass case.
Mom: That's...um...cool. I think it's cool he goes to Yale. You have to be pretty smart to get into that college.
Nick: BOTH her kids went to Yale! Mom, what college do you want me to go to?
Mom: Well, we have plenty of time to think about that. It will pretty much be your decision, though.
Nick: You know, you can go to college on-line...then I can just stay at home!!
Mom: Bwaaa-haaaa-haaaa-haaa!!!! No sir! There comes a time when you need to grow up and move on! I love ya, Bud, but I gotta draw the line.
Nick: Hee-hee! Nope! I'm staying forever!!

Oh boy. I distinctly remember the cord being cut...he has the belly button to prove it. I find I have to remind him of this fact frequently. Secret confession: I sometimes I love his high cuddle quotient!

I can see that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree! I seem to rememeber a little girl that said she was going to live at home until she was 92! So there is hope, she moved out when she was 22!
