Heritage
Poor Megan got made fun of by the moms at karate last week. It was Saint Patrick's Day and she was wearing her "Everybody Loves an Irish Girl" shirt. The shirt had some sparkles on it so she liked wearing it, but Nicholas is much more in touch with his Irish heritage. She bolted into karate after Nick. I was a little behind because I was carrying his huge equipment bag and her two toy bags. When I got to the family seating area, the moms were smiling at her and saying, "Megan SCALERA, why are you wearing a shirt that says you're an Irish girl?" I kindly pointed out that though their last name comes from the Italian branch of the family tree, they technically have Irish roots on both sides! Ha ha, take THAT! I also wear my "Wicked Irish" shirt and Nicholas insists on keeping the "Luck of the Irish" decorations up year round.
I suppose I should make a bigger deal of Columbus Day, for the Italian side. Oh well, no one is perfect.

If Columbus Day is the best the Italians can do, they need to just quit.
The Fitzgeralds are very proud of you Magan
