Lions and tigers and...kittens?

Oh my.

It seems we have a new addition. After a day of hearing a baby animal crying from up under our mudroom, Dave and Nicholas heroically rescued a tiny (4 - 6 weeks) kitten this evening. The previous owners of our house, in their true do-it-yourself fashion, built a mudroom right over their old cement stairs. This little stray (or abandoned?) was wedged way up close to the house between the floor beams that were right on top of the top step/landing. Thus, she was a good 4 feet from any one's reach. After hours of coaxing and much slithering by both Dave and Nick, she came out.

Over $100 later (trip to the 24 hr vet), I think she's ours. I was at work all day and Meg is sleeping over a friend's house. I think the boys are irrevocably bonded. I returned home to 3 sets of big, pleading eyes...2 human, 1 feline. She checked out very healthy...not even a flea. She's young and only kinda-sorta knows how to eat, but seems to be catching on. She's yet to be named and we need to make sure Dave's not allergic to her.

So...that brings us to a 50 pound dog (found wandering the streets of Alabama) upstairs and a 1 pound kitten (found alone on the mean streets of Nashua) downstairs. Lets see how this works out! People live perfectly normal lives with both cats and dogs......right? We seem to be softies, so here's hoping no one ever drops a baby in a basket at our doorstep. Our quiver is officially full!!!

Hmmm...you guys are softies? I have a dog, cat, and couple kids I could use a break from. You might find the whole package outside sometime...
