Maybe researching what cities are bidding for the 2020 Games is putting the cart before the horse, but Megan had a fantastic time at her very first gymnastics class today! We didn't know until we got there, but a little boy from her class at school started today as well. It was nice that they knew someone.
She was so excited to start.
After warming up, they completed a rotation of three circuits. There was a balance area where they used a standard balance beam with the teacher, a low one on their own, various jumping up onto a low beam games and even learned the very pretty "crane stance" leg position. There was a tumbling circuit where Meg held her hands above her head (with pretty gymnast hands) and hopped down a long trampoline. She also tried to master a forward roll with the teacher. The last circuit involved big mats and pads to help them learn to do cartwheels and back bends and such. To close the class, they each got to jump into a big foam-block pit. How fun is that?
