Nicholas:
Nicholas had a book fair at his school this week. Never wanting to discourage the buying of books, I sent him off with $10. He came home with a book for himself and...drum roll please...ONE FOR HIS SISTER!!!! Completely unsolicited! He said he had some extra money and thought she'd like the Barbie book.
Also this week was the "Celebration of Learning" at Nick's school. This is the night that families get to visit the classrooms and see the work their students have done throughout the year. On Nick's desk was a 3-ring binder full of his writing spanning the whole year. His teacher really set it up beautifully. When I spoke to her, she also had wonderful things to say about Nick. His school has had a grant to bring in an "artist in residence" for the past several years. Last year the artist was a weaver and all the students contributed to making tapestries depicting the seasons that now decorate the school. This year they had a sculptor. Each child made a tile and the tiles were then mounted to the walls as murals of the seven continents. We found Nick's tile outside the nurse's office within the "Africa" mural.

Megan:
This week Megan lost her first tooth. She was so excited! Now, it did not loosen naturally (she half snapped it out of her head by trying to use her teeth to pull something apart two weeks ago), but thankfully it fell out quickly and without a dentist's assistance. (Bottom, her left if you can't see it.)
On Friday Megan has Kindergarten orientation at her new school (Nick's school). Both of us are nervous and excited all at the same time. If I manage to snap a picture or two without embarrassing either of us, I'll add it in later!
