First of all, the weather was perfect! Who needs to pay money to go somewhere tropical when it was 90 in our own back yard? Megan and I even ended up with that first-day-of-sun-after-a-long-dark-winter burn on our shoulders. The kids played outside with the neighbors and ran around in shorts and tank tops.
We went to the movies twice, seeing Monsters vs. Aliens (with our friends) and Hannah Montana. I didn't bring my camera either of those days.
We went to Franklin Park Zoo with those same friends, followed by ice cream at Haywards here in Nashua.

I took the kids to the traveling carnival down the street. I love amusement parks, but I hate those carnivals! I've seen way too many 20/20 exposes about the equipment and the carnies that run them! They begged to go last year, but luckily it got rained out. This year I couldn't avoid it. It was a waste of money, but the kids had fun. Nick wanted to go on the huge slide thing that you go down on a burlap sac. Meg said no way unless I went with her. So we paid our tickets and climbed the scary stairs. We got up there, got Megan on my lap and Nick next to me and nick said, "NO WAY! I'M NOT DOING THIS. I'LL GO BACK DOWN THE STAIRS!" Great. This is the kid that had no problems going down "Geronimo" at Water Country last summer. So there I sat. He went down the stairs and Megan and I went down the slide. Let me tell you, there is no way that thing was assembled correctly because the last bump/seam was a *killer* on the hiney!!! As we left Nick says to me, "Mom, there's no way that thing could have been inspected and passed." That's my boy! My point exactly. Sadly, in the mayhem my camera was left on the kitchen table so I couldn't document the horror.
The rest of the week was filled with the usual crazy schedule. All-in-all it was a wonderful week and we're excited to do more of the same this summer!
