Today is Dave's Dad's birthday. We told him he had to decide where we would take him and Deb for lunch. He said the kids could decide. They said Chuck E. Cheese's. I said NO. After a lot of coaxing, we finally got out of him that he enjoys Markey's out by the beach. So we piled into our van and headed to the beach on this "crisp" February day. It was SO much fun! Sadly, my camera got left in Dave's car, so the only pictures we got were on Dave's phone.
Oh well.
We had a fun lunch, but the kids really wanted to go to the beach. We drove the short distance to Salisbury Beach and walked a great distance on it. It was cold and windy...and I had BAD shoes on for beach walking...but seeing the kids laughing and playing and hearing Dave and his Dad reminisce about all the summers their family spent there made it all worth it.

Then we drove back to Grandpa & D's for cake and relaxation. Of course, the kids insisted on playing a few board games and the grandparents obliged. We were all exhausted by 6pm when we left. None of us will have trouble sleeping tonight! Well, except my choices of steamers + fried clams + french fries + birthday cake still feels like its sitting in my gut! Did I eat a single vegetable today? Did my kids? Hmm. Not good.
